Where Has The Time Gone?

Time flies as we are told; however, where does that time go? Looking over this much neglected blog, I find myself looking at past blog posts and even contemplating the ones lost due to a massive overhaul then feeling really crappy that they are not persevered in some way but that is life. Then my mind turns to, why not resume blogging about the WrittenInEarth that I’ve become. So, I’m going to try to keep up with this blog and start blogging again.

Time flies, where does that time go?

Dusting off the Cobwebs.

Well, I know that I have allowed the dust and cobwebs to gather on this blog. In my defense, I was in grad school plus student interning that now as a state intern in marriage and family therapy, I think it is important for me to have a space to verbalize and formalize my thoughts, beliefs and my ever evolving polytheistic/pagan/folksy/witchy/etc.. path as it evolves.

However, where is Written In Earth now? Well, how does everywhere stand? That is how it has been for awhile. I have plans for this blog, ideas to explore, and; lastly, provide a voice, perhaps, to religions that are underrepresented in the world at large.

Well, let's get moving....

Solomon. Pt III

Tonight as I did my meditation with the incense burning, the candles lit, and music playing; Solomon entered my thoughts. As I sat here in the dark, I could see myself sitting in my meditation pose in Solomon's home. I got the sense I was the more spiritual one than he was. And as I sat there, he sat behind me, his chest on my back and his legs open with his knees bent. He put his head on my right shoulder. For a moment I thought I could hear his breathing in my ear. Being mindful and respectful of my meditation being a form of worship of the gods.

Then as I allowed the 'vision' or whatever it was to carry me away, we were at some festival. Somehow it was a festival of Sun and Moon. I painted Solomon in gold for he was the sun and I was painted in white for I was the moon. On his forehead a red circle with lines radiating outward represented the sun and it's rays. On mine the crescent moon, like horns painted on my forehead. The 'vision' didn't last for long. It drifted away from me slowly but all that remained was Solomon's face. I could see it and kept seeing it. I remember looking up to Solomon because he was taller than I was. Somehow using was to talk about the experience doesn't seem right. It's more in the moment more present than past tense.

For a moment I felt like I wasn't alone. Solomon was here. He was with me. I could again hear his voice and the words were an unknown and forgotten language. Yet I understood what he was saying yet now, I don't remember his words, I just remember him. Wrapping his body around mine as I meditated.

Just when I thought that somehow he wouldn't appear again, and there he was quietly and subtly there in the space between quiet and communion with all that is and all that will be.

Thank you, Solomon, thank you.

Solomon, where are you?

Well, I have not had any visits from Solomon. Even though I still think of him and the dream. Perhaps, I should do some kind of meditation on the whole Solomon affair. Who knows maybe something will come of it.

Solomon: Part II

As I was walking today, as I normally do before I have to start writing my class paper, Solomon popped back into my thoughts again. The more I walked the more some details came back to me, like I can remember the colour of the interior. It was like a burnt orange like colour. It was actually a beautiful colour. As that thought flooded me and then left, a new thought came in to my mind. A place name.

Arisa, an island of Arkadia. How strange I thought. What and where is this 'island'. I still have no idea. I do believe that it has to do with Solomon as the minute that name came and it's 'location' popped into my head, Solomon's name came to me again.

That is all that I have for today as the saga of Solomon continues. I hope to find out more and figure out this story.

I have been trying to find an image of what Solomon may have looked like, or at least something close. This is what I have found that somewhat captures Solomon. It's close, but Solomon was more beautiful than this....

A man named Solomon.

A few nights ago, I had a dream that I still find myself thinking about. I thought about just keeping it to myself or sharing it. I have decided to share it here as I am at loss for words and like I said I find myself thinking about it. I will not hide anything; I will share what I remember and what I know.

I was lovers with a man named Solomon. Solomon was a beautiful black man (I mean a really beautiful black man), in his early 40s. He had blond hair, or was it white, peppered perhaps? I do remember his hair was blond or white. We were in our hut/house. From what I remember of the surroundings, that it looked like a roman style interior yet it had a tribal feel to it. Solomon was on top of me; inside of me. Even writing this now, I find my heart racing, my breathe shortening. The sex was intense.  I remember looking back and I could see his defined body. I even remember his penis. I can describe it, I will not do that here as I am trying to keep this somewhat p.c., and I can remember how the sun washed over his body. I can remember feeling his warmth, the warmth of his body--his breath upon my body. I remember also he was wearing gold bracelets on his bicep and that it wrapped around his arm. Some were thick bracelets while others were thin metal. I remember my whole body was tingling during the entire experience. I also woke feeling the remnants of the tingle. The only reason I know Solomon's name was cause I remember calling his name out.

When I woke, I could taste him, smell him, and; oddly, I can still hear his voice. I can hear his sighs of pleasure. I have found myself for the last few days feeling upset that Solomon is not here. Which is totally strange. I do not know a Solomon and I am in a committed relationships and have been for the last 12 years. So where this came from I do not know.

I have tried racking my brain trying to figure out who he is/was. I mean is Solomon a noncoporeal being? Did I slip into another plan of existence? A parallel world similar to ours but completely different? Or did I tap into a past life? I do not know, I have been trying to make heads or tales of the whole story. I have even asked some trusted friends about this to get some perspective on the whole situation. I have even thought that if I meditate could I contact Solomon? To try to figure him out, understand him, and; ultimately, know him.

Solomon, are you out there? And if so where and what do you call home? Why did you appear in my dreams?

Athena Minerva: Lorddess of Wisdom

                                                 (Source: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dimberly/2907609908/)

In my personal pantheon, I have a name I use for the gods. Since I work with various gods from various paths, yes I am eclectic or as we call it in my MFT class--integrated. Since not all my gods dwell upon Olympus, it made sense to reference them all by another group name. Which it is personal and I will not post the name here, but I usually collectively call them Lords (I use it much the same way as one would use gods as a collective term for all gods).
Athena Minerva, the Lorddess of Wisdom, has always had a special place in my heart! My family on my father's side comes from a family with the last name of Mocho which means owl. So I suppose she has always had a place in my family even though they did not know it as they were catholic. I just wanted to post some Athena Minerva love to my page. As you probably noticed, as a side note, that I use both her Greek and Roman name. I personally see both goddess being the same being just understood by two different cultures. So praise be to Athena Minerva!!

Ouija.

Something that I have been wonder, dear reader, what is your views on working with the Ouija? I personally have always felt a strong connection with the Ouija. I have even have said a home without a Ouija is a home with out a soul. I truly believe that!

However, some people have such a knee jerk reaction to the use, selling, and just the mere mention of it. Why is that? I have always held the belief that the Ouija is no different that Tarot or another other form/tool of divination...but why does Ouija get a bum wrap?

Non-corporeal beings

As I sit here on this Saturday night, taking a break from researching for my group project, looking at my new Ouija board I start to formulate an idea I have been toying with for a few months. A few months ago, I started getting strange names in my dreams. Names that when I Google them, nothing comes up. So I started to write each and everyone and through meditation I've decided to get to "know" these names.

As my own path evolves and grows, I've begun to include prophets....granted I use the Hebrew name, Nevi'im (Prophets), to my path. The more I wonder on the names, the more I realize that perhaps the names are non-corporeal beings/Prophets.

I know how crazy that sounds, non-corporeal beings; however, I do as a pagan believe in such beings. I also believe that it is possible that such beings can talk to us through our dreams or even day dreams. I have begun, as I previously said, to write them down and then based on my gut feeling write how they are related or connected to one another. Perhaps they are masks of the various entities/beings from the various religious paths I have come across in my religious travels/studies.

The jury is still out, but I am embracing it! These names, thoughts, beings, etc... are coming from somewhere, whether my subconscious or beings who communicate via the dreams, I am going with it. I mean, why is it that modern folks have this view that when God(s) talk, it is going to be a loud boom with trumpets? Is it that hard to believe that God(s) or Beings talk to you maybe they will use methods and means that best work for us? If we are open to dreams communication, then that is what will be used, not loud booms or bellowing voices. Perhaps, these beings are doing the same and; ultimately, I am going to embrace it and explore it.

What do you, dear reader think about this? What are your views regarding such beings and; therefore, communications?

Clearing the cob webs and an update.

Well it's been awhile since I was last here--there have been big changes in my life. I have re-enrolled back to UoP! I'm in my second class in my master's program. Thus far, I passed my last class with an A! AN A!!! And so far with this second class, I have an A also! I am so proud of myself, there was some doubt about me being able to do this, as it's a totally different way of learning than I am used to! However; I am excited about doing well and can't wait til I complete my masters and get licensed as a MFT!

As you can see, there have been great changes to this blog, I have felt the call of the release and saw that while my stay was comfortable, the Lords (as I call the gods) felt it was time for change to happen! While the ideas previously explored in my path have been released, they will not be forgotten. My path has been enriched and expanded and new ideas based on old ideas have come into play. New exciting ideas have come and I again feel the breathe of the gods in my life.

As new ideas come into being, I can see connections to older ideas and I love it!

I plan to update this blog more as time goes on, I need time to decompress and relax after a week of reading, prep-ing for class etc... So I plan to be back and going to post more!

Wish me luck, dear readers!

I am currently enrolled in a class that fulfills my lacking three credits that the UoP says that I need to have in order to take the M.F.T. Masters program...so this eight week course has had me running around crazy with the amount of work! So my apologies for the lacking content! However; I am planning to get back into the swing of things...I have some wonderful ideas and workings that I want to share here and start again the dialog...

Just bare with me and I promise to get the ball rolling again.

Where has the time gone?

Well it's been ages since I last updated my blog. I have to say that the last time I updated this space, it was Eros Day, which feels like last year. And lot has happened since the last time I was here. I have survived family drama, family and I aren't talking but no need to dwell on it here. I was laid off from my design job at the local paper here in town. I'm currently on unemployment, applying to any design job I can find.

I actually during this time have come to the conclusion that I want to change gears and change careers, I know crazy right?! I don't think so. I haven't been happy with my design jobs going back all the way to my first one. A friend of mine in the world of Marriage and Family Therapy had on several occasions suggested to me that I would be good at MFT, as I am insightful, thoughtful, and great at guiding others while not giving them the answers they need to find for themselves. I have been thinking about it as long as she has been mentioning it to me. Finally the last time I saw her, I said I want to take you up on what you are suggesting. She made some suggestions to local universities here in my town that I could complete the course, if I'm accepted, in about 2 yrs and out in the field working shortly after. Well after an appointment about 2 weeks ago, I have requested my transcripts, sent out the recommendation check list pple have to fill out on my behalf, applied for FASFA, and I have one essay down and written. All that is left is to go to the Information Session on October 6th. Which I've RSVP'ed to already.

What I find interesting is that I had said to a friend of mine a few months back before all this stuff hit the fan, that I would love to be a guide of sorts. Help people find their way while empowering them to do so. It goes all the way back to the idea of being a magickal person. Being crafty if you. And through the course of our talk she said she could see that and the stuff we touched upon made me realize that I could do something like that in my life. The world of Design has some how left me unhappy and struggling to make ends meet. Also truly missing people. It's what I loved about Borders, the ability to talk to people and interact with them. The ability to guide some.

So when I lost my job, after much soul searching and some other stuff that went down during that time, I went for walks. During these walks, I would open myself up to the Gods and Spirits and said to them just guide me, I'm lost. And the more and more I thought about the MFT job possibility, the more things were put in my path. I mean all the ducks seemed to be lining up in a row without effort or much trying. And with a few freak outs of can I go back to school? I've been out of school for about 10 yrs can I do this again? I'm 32 years old and I'm gonna go back?! The more things seemed to fall into place. Which I thought was interesting. Like someone upstairs is saying, you want to be a guide? Help pple?! Put your money where your mouth is. And I'm doing it. I just have to wait on the Grant Plus Loan (I think that is the name) which will dictate how much money I get to live on. If I can get enough to pay the mortgage plus get a little part time job doing something wonderfully mindless, I will do it. If not, then I will have to figure something out as well it sadly about the money to tell you the truth. The figures have to add up. We live in a world where money rules. We can't live someplace for free, get free food; everything has a cost.

However on a magickal spiritual note, my path has blossomed. I have made my study | Temple space truly a wonderful place to be. I burn incense every day as part of my prayers or offerings of thanks. I make offerings of water and music ( i usually play an instrumental cd ). I even have candles both real and artificial that I use. My grimoire hasn't come along as I would like in the realm of crafting that, but I think I will focus on that sometime this week. However, I've truly hit a space in my spirituality that I'm happy even though it's growing, evolving, and changing. It everyday grows and becomes more me and fills my world. I see the world through the realm of spiritual magickal expression that I think working at the Design Job at the local paper drained from me and took from me. But I have found it again. I am truly happy.

So where has the time gone?! Well I can say it's brought be me here to this point in my life. Where I am back to writing, praising the Gods and weaving a wonderful tapestry that is my path.

I'm back.

Eros Day Yr 2.

Now about a year ago, I wrote an entry about making Valentine's Day more pagan for us pagan folks. While the original post was just putting thought to 'paper', but I thought I would make an entry.

So Eros' Day. How do we honour this day? Well we can spend it with someone we care about. Do the cards, flowers, chocolates, etc. It's important to honour the divine principle Love.

While honouring the god, Eros, we could light a candle and give him praise and thanks.

How are you planning to celebrate?

It's Been Awhile.

I know it's been awhile since my last post. My apologies about that.
I have had a lot going on in my offline life, and a lot of it isn't too
pleasant. Which I won't dwell on it here nor focus on those situations
that have caused everything in my personal life to take a swan dive.

However, I just wanted to let you -- dear reader, I am well and doing fine.
I am currently working on a new post idea, that I have been toying with
since my little vacation started.

We should be getting back to our regularly scheduled programme shortly.

Hello Again | Eros Day

Well it's been ages, well based on what my last post says, August 16, 2010. And I apologize for that, honest!! Between starting my new job and some things going on in my private life, this blog suffered and that's sad, as I enjoy this little piece of internet.

However, things have calmed down, sorta, and I will focus on this blog again.

But on to the second part of the title of this entry, which probably has you scratching your head when you read Eros Day. Now this idea isn't entirely my own, but I have never honestly connected with Valentines Day-it's mythology, etc. Now I don't have a problem with Christianity or Catholicism, but we just never clicked.

And the Romans this time of year had Lupercalia, which was a fertility festival, and valentines day really isn't a fertility festival ( it could be for some lol ), but I have always wanted to create something connected to some of the symbols associated with the holiday.

So keeping this always in the back of my mind, I was inspired when I was watching Caprica, the BSG prequel, and the episode that I saw, they were celebrating Eros Day-giving each other cards etc. From there I was inspired. So this year I decided to celebrate Eros Day. In Roman Mythology, Cupid (or Amor) was associated with Eros, and since Cupid already plays a big part- and besides Cupid Day doesn't have that ring to it, you know what I mean?

From there Eros Day to Eros; how would or should someone celebrate? While I haven't figured out the logistics on the how just yet, but this year let's make Eros Day our pagan version of the holiday... we can honor Eros along with his mother....

And since he shoots arrows that makes lovers fall in love, he is also the patron of male love, so right there we have taken care of two birds with one stone, if you think about it. A god associated with love in different forms.

So can I be the first to wish you dear reader a Happy Eros Day!!!!
Celebrate with love, chocolate... Let Eros' arrows strike our hearts this day....

P|S I know this post isn't really well written, but I wanted to put my idea down on paper and let it blossom to see where it goes.

The Remuria

I know I haven't posted here in ages and I'm sorry for that, but I thought I would blog here as a way to kinda write down a thought I have been having. Since my little vacation from blogging and just meditating on my personal path and practice
-Okay i'm digressing-

I have been toying with the idea about Remus and Romulus-as we know from popular legends that Romulus killed Remus and founded Rome. Well doing some research on the Lemuria, which on my personal calendar I have moved it Oct.31| Nov.1-

However, according to Ovid's Fasti, the origin of this ancient festival, who derives Lemuria from a supposed Remuria was that it had been instituted by Romulus to appease the spirit of Remus. So, that got me thinking-and toying with the idea of the Remuria (May 9,11,13) as a day of atonement and appeasing Remus' spirit.

A day filled with prayers and meditation....

Thoughts?
